  • Advanced fields are automatically formatted form field options. Use these for the common form field questions like name, date, phone number, email address, and mailing address

How to Add a NextGEN Image Gallery to a Page

After logging into the admin of a wordpress website locate the pages tab and choose a page that you would like to add an image gallery too.

Locate and click the “Add NextGEN gallery” button.

Galleries can be displayed in three different ways: an image list, a slideshow, and an imagebrowser. Choose a display option and select the gallery you would like to add to the page.

  • An image list displays thumbnails in rows and columns. If you click a thumbnail the image will enlarge.
  • A slideshow displays images that scroll through at a rate determined in the gallery options. A slideshow will automatically rotate images without any action by the user.
  • An image browser has a static image with navigation arrows. Arrows to the left and right allow the user to see previous or next images.

You can also add a single image from a gallery to a page.

  • Just select the “Picture” tab from the nextgen gallery menu and then choose an image from the drop down options.
  • You can format the image by specifying the width and height as well as whether it will be aligned to the left, in the middle, or to the right.
  • Click insert to add a single picture shortcode to the page. Adding a single picture to a page from a gallery allows the image to enlarge in the same window when it is clicked.

ClickCom WordPress Training

Wordpress LogoOne of the best assets of the software that ClickCom builds within is that the user interface is friendly enough that most anyone feels comfortable adding and editing content within their site. This allows our clients to maintain their own content, saving them cost as well as ensuring their confidence in continuing to create beautiful pages and posts with their own unique content.  At ClickCom, we offer free WordPress training seminars every other Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

We want our clients to feel confident when they have their websites in their hands – a big part of that is encouraging our clients to attend ClickCom’s free WordPress training as often as they would like to.  WordPress is an open source software and there is plenty of documentation available on the web for its applications – with that said, it has been my experience that I learn better when I have someone walk me through the ropes at least once or twice.

In WordPress training, we go over the basic functions of a WordPress site as built by ClickCom.  What do I mean by “as built by ClickCom”?  Well, we use several well-built, well-tested and documented pieces of software (called “plugins”) in building our websites and we make sure that our clients are trained on them in order to utilize them to their highest function.  We make sure that our documentation is kept current, and are consistently upgrading our versions of software in order to maintain our own programming library.

What does this mean for you?  Well, it means that ClickCom will do everything we can to ensure that you have the support you need in going forward with your own site.  WordPress training is the best place to start – if you need to sign up, you can do so quickly by visiting our calendar here and registering for the date that best fits your schedule.

If you want more in-depth training, we will gladly work with you one-on-one to get you up to speed on all the things your site can do!  Please contact your account executive or call 704.365.9970 and ask for any of our well qualified account managers.

Geo Location for Phones and Mobile Devices

geolocation for mobileDeveloping a website for a mobile device presents some challenges. The biggest difference between designing a website for a mobile device as opposed to a desktop is that someone accessing a site from a phone generally has different goals. They might be traveling, in a boring meeting, or waiting in line at the DMV. They generally are not sitting at a desk.

Making searches local, accessible, and useful to the user is a characteristic of an effective mobile site. Geo-location is an excellent tool used especially for mobile devices. For example, you can find where the nearest Wendy’s is to your doctors office as you walk to your car. Download a coupon for a frosty or something while writing a testimonial about how much you love your doctor’s office. Then your handy-dandy phone will give you directions to that Wendy’s. Designing and optimizing a website specifically for mobile devices streamlines the whole process making a pleasantly simple digital experience.

What Facebook Can do for Your Business

800 million users on Facebook

Facebook is a great way to use the power of the Internet to connect with the people in your community.

There are more than 800 million people on Facebook. Facebook provides a huge network of people, people who want to talk to you. Most of your current customers are probably already active on Facebook. Having a business page, or fan page, on Facebook is essential to your online marketing success.

Social networking is all about making connections and establishing relationships. When you start a Facebook presence for your business it isn’t only about having a Facebook page. It’s important to be active and maintain your presence. You want your customers to see that there are real people manning the page and not some unemotional robot. Make regular updates that appeal to what your target audiences needs and wants, it will keep people coming back for more. An important note, keep your photos, videos, and information current and fresh.

A cool feature of Facebook is the ability to share links on your status. These links are then posted on all of your fans’ news feeds. You can share an article that you found interesting, any company news, special promotions, and events. If you have a blog you can post the title and link it back to your blog drawing traffic there. Plus links are great for SEO and will help your online presence.

On the other side, it is a good idea to make it easy for your customers to share information about you with their Facebook friends by adding “share” links within your own sites. Facebook brings your business together with your existing and potential clients.

If you need help with your company’s Facebook fan page get in touch with Clickcom. We can help!
